With the ever changing technologies, the Town of Hopkinton is staying current by updating the website and availing valuable information online.
Friday, May 18, the Town of Hopkinton Launches their new website . This date might not be as historic as the other dates you have memorized, but it will make your daily dealings with local government much easier; at least that's the goal of IT Director Chris McClure. "Right now HCAM is running the town's website, so this will eliminate the bottleneck the information has to go through," McClure said. "It will allow everyone working in town hall to update the information immediately and keep the website thorough." This change is part of a grander change going on in the government offices, a rebranding if you will. In the past, government workers and volunteers had email addresses that ended with the url for the old website (Hopkinton.org). …
For the fourth and final question posed to 2012 Hopkinton School Committee candidates, we asked them what makes Hopkinton's school system so good and what needs to be done to stay on top.
This week on Patch we wanted to help Hopkinton voters get to know what makes the School Committee candidates tick and where they stand on various issues. To do this we asked each candidate to respond to four questions from Tuesday, May 15 through Friday, May 18 we will feature all of the candidates' responses to one question. All four candidates are running for two open positions in the election. The first question we asked the candidates focused on the basic reasons for why they would be a good selection to be on the committee. The second question focused on what they see as a solution to the problems at the Center School that have been plaguing the town for years. The third question the candidates answered was mentioned by several …

Andre Griben has worked with School Committee candidate Frank D'Urso on various committee and asks others to join him in voting for D'Urso.
Submitted by Andre Griben I have had the pleasure to know and work with Frank for the past few years thru various community functions. Con Com, Green Committee, Trails Club, Scouting and Town Sports. Frank brings a fresh perspective to Town politics, always willing to look at the big picture, his manner is non partisan and looks for ways to re-purpose Town assets rather than replace and rebuild. I also commend him for stepping and seeking election for this position. I ask you vote on Monday for Frank D'Urso for School Committee.

More than a year has passed since the town voted against a plan for districted schools, including a new building on Fruit Street. Today we asked candidates what they look for in a solution to the town's elementary school woes.

Now, this drive is an easy one. As easy as putting out the mail. It's even easier, because you don't need a stamp. On Saturday, May 12, Hopkinton mail carriers join in the effort to Stamp Out Hunger, a nationwide effort to combat hunger. Letter carriers pick up non-perishable donations that are left out in, or near, the mailbox on that Saturday. The Hopkinton Post Office has will be bringing all food to Project Just Because to help the needy. Among other votes, Town Meeting rejected a liquor store petition and a bylaw that would require changes for second-hand businesses.
At the third and final night of Hopkinton's annual town meeting voters approved changes to the zoning bylaws as well as a tax incentive for PerkinElmer, a company looking to expand their presence in town. What they didn't approve may have been far more significant. Hopkinton developer Chuck Joseph, representing CJPM Development LLC, asked residents to petition the state to add an extra liquor license to the town so a new package store could be built in the Hopkinton Square Development. The town meeting voters decided that it was not in the best interest for the town to add a license above and beyond the amount allowed based on the town's population. As the state has laid out liquor licenses, each town is given one license plus another for …
