Both of which town meeting speakers said are vital drawing new businesses to the town. According to Worcester Business Journal six new leases have been signed for the park in the past six months. The new businesses are in fields that already exist in Hopkinton but will now see even more growth. iDazz owner, Trish Kozub is a one woman show on the road and in her studio.
Sometimes unwanted change can lead you to a career you never thought possible, and sometimes a trip to a bead store to feed your love of shiny things can turn into a lifelong obsession. Tricia Kozub, owner and founder of iDazz creations, experienced this first hand when her husband was asked to relocate to California. Kozub went reluctantly and her life changed. “iDazz started 12 years ago in California as a trip to a bead store that rapidly turned into an obsession,” Kozub said. “I was not happy about moving, but I loved that store and people were always amazed when I said I made my jewelry myself." Soon people began asking Kozub for her creations, and upon returning to Hopkinton after the Internet bubble burst, Trish found it impossible …

The owner of a liquor store in Hopkinton urges residents to weigh the pros and cons as well as the fairness of a town meeting petition to allow a fourth liquor store in to town.
This letter was Submitted by Clelland Johnson of Hopkinton Wine and Spirits in response to an article published last week about a town meeting petition for a fourth liquor store in town. Dear Friends, The developer of the Price Chopper plaza, i.e. Hopkinton Square, has convinced the Board of Selectmen to put a citizen’s petition on the warrant of next week’s Town Meeting that would grant a liquor license toCJPM Development LLC (the plaza developer). This is not a good option for two very good reasons: A fourth retail liquor license is unnecessary at this time While a fourth license will be appropriate when Legacy Farms comes online, it is unnecessary at this time. And, when Legacy Farms does come online, the new license will be better …

With two retail businesses currently selling liquor and a third being sold to new owners, the Board of Selectmen voted last night to endorse a citizens petition to let a Hopkinton developer pursue a fourth license for the town.
At last night’s Board of Selectmen meeting a sense of agreement was shared that because the town has reached the 15,000-population threshold it is okay for Hopkinton real estate developer Chuck Joseph to apply for a site-specific liquor license for a business to be located at the Hopkinton Square developmenton South Street. The Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission normally goes by the town’s population as of the last census, which listed Hopkinton's population at roughly 14,900 and within the population range where a town is allowed to have three package stores. Chuck Joseph, of CJPM Development LLC, has filed a citizens petition to have Town Meeting vote to approve law that would allow Joseph to pursue a license through the special …

After a fire at Cornell’s on Saturday brought many of the town’s emergency responders together, the watering hole remains open for anyone to come in.
With a parking lot full of cars for the HPTA kickball tournament, many residents may have been concerned when numerous police and fire vehicles were parked at Cornell’s just before 3 p.m. on Saturday. A fire was reported to have started in the vent hood over the grill in the Kitchen before spreading through some of the ventilation system and eventually on to the roof. Although the restaurant’s owner Rob Cornell was unable to be reached for comment, one worker said that the bar has been continuing to serve drinks to their patrons and was never shut down. “I don’t know where people got that idea from,” the worker said. The fire chief said the kitchen would need to be closed for some amount of time.
