Black, on the floor next to my bed and I will be in Vegas for two months.

Over the last few years there has been an annual gimmick among us ladies to participate a variety of little social media games that in the end are suppose to promote breast cancer awareness. Obviously from my inbox it is that time of year again, just like buying Girl Scout cookies which we are currently soliciting our friends and family to purchase (so, if you are in the need for a box of $4 Thin Mints contact me).

Ladies, as the message starts this is no way going to effective pro actively promote the cure of breast cancer.

So, gentlemen I am breaking the ladies only Facebook pink campaign code, it is no secret fetish place we like to be intimate or extended travel adventure.

The first one of these I remember women were posting one word a color (today mine is black), it was the color of the bra we were wearing. I remember seeing an excited gentleman’s response to one of these posts that was in response to the word “nude”, again it was the color of her bra nothing more.

The second that I saw received lots of racy comments; this was in response to the ladies question where do you keep your purse.  My purse is “on the floor next to my bed”, others ranged from the kitchen table, on the seat of the car and the closet.

The new posting’s game out again this past week, I have seen postings from women that are state senators and business owners participating in this nonsense.

Below is the actual message being passed around that supposedly promotes breast cancer awareness and results if I participated in would post  “I am going to Vegas for two months”.

Sorry. Ladies I am spilling the secret of the recent breast cancer mystery status updates.

Below is the message being mass circulated around to women sshh men if you are reading this don’t let on.

Ok pretty ladies, it is that time of year again...support of breast cancer awareness!
So we all remember last year's game of writing your bra color as your status?
Or the way we like to have our handbag handy? Last year, so many people took
part that it made national news... and the constant updating of status reminded
everyone why we're doing this and helped raise awareness!
Do NOT tell any males what the statuses mean...keep them guessing!! And please
copy and paste (in a message) this to all your female friends.
The idea is to choose the month you were born and the day you were born. Pass
this on to the GIRLS ONLY and let's see how far it reaches around. The last one
about the bra went around all over the world. Your status should say "I am going to France for 18 months. "The day you were born should be how many months you are gone.
January – Mexico, February –London, March – Miami, April - Dominican Republic, May– France, June - St Petersburg.July – Austria, August – Germany, September - New York, October – Amsterdam, November - Las Vegas, December – Columbia

You know what ladies the guys don’t care. Have you ever seen men forwarded this stuff around or they are real good at it and still a secret to me?

If you want to promote breast cancer awareness then participate and give to the charities that are supporting medical research, patient support and education programs.  These games get us no closer to a cure than a recent email from a very polite Nigerian man who needs to deposit millions into my bank account.

If each woman that participates in these gave instead a little time and/or money together we can make differences toward a cure.

While I am on my personal rant lets add to the list of things that clutter our life, try to guilt us and play upon the naive.

Forwarding a chain email;
I see your email’s subject line is a forwarded message fw topics from angels to Zen please know now I delete these without ever opening them (sorry Barb). If my happiness or destruction is dependent on getting your email forward to eight of my friends
with in eight minutes of receipt,  I will be doomed loveless, broke and with leprosy.

This also goes for the passionate pleas to repost a message on my Facebook page for just one hour, here is one from today (sorry K).

Can I make a request? Is anyone willing to post this and
leave it on your status for 1 hour? It is Special Education week & Autism& ADHD & ADD Awareness month, and this is in honor of all children who struggle every day.

Ok, I have a child of my own who struggles daily with the above, reposting this will not change her life, cure someone of cancer or even a hang nail.

Now, that you know the color of the bra I wore today; I want to ask you before you repost and hit forward to a chain email take a moment and instead covert it to an act of kindness.

Those acts of kindness will truely make a difference.
