Postmaster Carl Zagame swears in the new Wee Deliver postmasters.

For second and third graders at the Elmwood School, the post office isn't just something they learn about; it's something they participate in.

Yesterday a group of thirty students were sworn in as new Wee Deliver postal workers. The group included Lulu Murphy and Cate Cestari who were selected to be the postmasters for the group. They will help lead the group of Elmwood second and third graders in delivery mail to and from the different classrooms.

The ceremony was lead by Hopkinton Postmaster Carl Zagame.

The fall group delivered a record high 4,000 pieces of mail.

Mail can be dropped off at the drop box inside the Elmwood School or in the special box at the Post Office.

This program has been going on at least since I was a student at Elmwood in the mid 90s, and I believe even years before then. Happy to see it's still going strong!
