Police Log: Loose Bloodhounds, Skateboard Theft
The following information was supplied by the Hopkinton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Wednesday, Feb. 8
9:29 a.m.: A motorist reported an accident on South Street to a detail officer. The Police Department and the Fire Department both responded. Three occupants were transported and a tow was needed for at least one vehicle.
11:15 a.m.: A caller reported that two bloodhounds that did not belong to him were loose in his yard on North Mill Street. The caller felt threatened by the dogs when he left his house and was worried about the safety of his chickens. Animal Control was familiar with the dogs and responded to the area.
11:31 a.m.: A female that was walking on North Mill Street reported being bothered by the same dogs from the previous incident. An officer responded and spoke to the female caller who was ok because the dogs ran off. Animal Control contacted the owner of the dogs and planned on issuing a leash law violation.
3:14 p.m.: A person walked in to the station to report credit card fraud.
3:54 p.m.: Three boys walked in to the station to report that a long board belonging to one of them was stolen from outside of Bill’s Pizza. They believed a group of older boys stole it but did not want to approach them. An officer responded with the young boys to where the older boys were.
6:04 p.m.: Ashland police asked Hopkinton police to be on the lookout for a red Dodge pickup truck that was involved in a road rage incident. Hopkinton police were unable to find the vehicle.
6:51 p.m.: A caller reported hitting a small deer on Hayden Rowe Street. There was no damage to the vehicle and the deer ran off.
6:56 p.m.: A caller reported hearing men screaming near Thayer Heights. An officer checked the area but could not find the source of the noise.
