Police Log: Hungry Beavers, Overnight Vehicle Thefts

The following information was supplied by the Hopkinton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Thursday, Dec. 15

12:43 a.m.: A caller reported a vehicle stopped on East Main Street. The caller said it appeared as if the driver was passed out. The vehicle was located in Ashland. Ashland Police took placed the operator in custody.

6:50 a.m.: A caller reported that an alarm went off in his Spring Street house. The caller requested extra checks of his home and was advised to call the police if the alarm went off again.

8:01 a.m.: The Hopkinton Police Department received a call about a downed wire on Elm Street. They checked the area and confirmed it to be a cable wire. Verizon was notified.

9:11 a.m.: An officer spoke with a person who had been involved in a crash on West Main Street. The person wanted to have a report on file in case the other driver tried to sue for damages.

8:00 a.m.: An officer assisted in Worcester during the funeral for Worcester firefighter Jon Davies.

11:29 a.m.: An officer assisted the highway department with a mirror placement on Main Street.

12:44 p.m.: A person walked in to report that there were items stolen from their vehicle overnight on Glen Road.

2:11 p.m.: A Connelly Hill resident walked in to report that her wallet was stolen from her vehicle overnight.

2:15 p.m.: An officer checked two vehicles that were parked behind a building on Wood Street. They belonged to construction workers.

2:31 p.m.: There were reports of a minor car crash on Grove Street. No personal injuries were reported.

3:28 p.m.: A caller reported a possible rolling domestic disturbance on Saddle Hill Road. The vehicle was headed toward the Hopkinton Country Club. When an officer arrived they could not locate the vehicle.

3:55 p.m.: A person walked in to the station to report beavers eating trees on East Main Street that may fall into the roadway. An officer checked the trees and reported that they were OK but the Department of Public Works was notified.

3:59 p.m.: A caller reported seeing a blue vehicle parked on Daniels Road several times during the past few days. An officer checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

5:14 p.m.: An officer found a large branch in the road on Cedar Street and moved it.

6:24 p.m.: Officers received an open 911 call and heard a possible argument between a male and a female at Nichols Road. Officers responded, spoke to the parties and took a report.

7:08 p.m.: Hopkinton police received a 911 call from Dewey Circle from a woman whose husband was confused and not acting right. Milford police officers responded.
