Police Log: Failure to Stop Arrest, Stumbling Male

The following information was supplied by the Hopkinton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Thursday, Feb. 9

1:01 a.m.: An officer checked an unoccupied car on West Main Street. While doing so a male came out from the building got in the car and drove away.

1:16 a.m.: An officer checked a motor vehicle on Hayward Street.

2:35 p.m.: The Hopkinton Police Department received a 911 call about a strange odor coming from laundry machines on Pond Street. An officer responded with members of the fire department.

5:10 p.m.: An officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Elm Street but the operator drove the vehicle very fast toward the Elmwood School. The officer was able to stop the vehicle at the school. Michael L. Temple, 40, of 109 Causeway St., Hudson, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop for an officer and a license plate violation.

5:13 p.m.: An officer responded to a two-car crash on South Street. No injuries were reported but one vehicle did need to be towed.

8:25 p.m.: An officer assisted the fire department with a smoke detector problem on Ash Street.

9:22 p.m.: A 911 caller from Winter Street reported that someone was in her house. When officers arrived the found her father, who also lives there, was the other person in the house.

9:55 p.m.: A caller reported a person stumbling down Clinton Street. Officers responded and found the person; his father picked him up.

11:44 p.m.: A caller reported a vehicle parked by the pumping station on Turnbridge Lane with its lights off. Officers responded and discovered that the vehicle had crashed.
