Police Log: Deer Removal, One Arrest
The following information was supplied by the Hopkinton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Monday, Jan. 9
2:51 a.m.: An officer advised a tow truck driver on Main Street to have flashers on the car being towed.
3:59 a.m.: A Hayden Rowe Street resident called to report someone banging on her door. Two officers responded and checked to make sure the area was clear and secure.
6:25 p.m.: A caller reported a vehicle parked at the corner of Fruit Street and Huckleberry Street. On officer responded and checked the vehicle, it belonged to a Verizon salesman and was not causing a hazard.
10:45 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious man walking around the Wood Street area. An officer checked the area but didn’t find anything.
11:34 p.m.: A person reported a dead deer on West Main Street. Animal Control was notified and removed the animal.
Tuesday, Jan. 10
2:36 a.m.: An officer checked a vehicle on East Main Street.
6:52 a.m.: A caller reported that a vehicle went through the flashing red lights of a bus on West Main Street. The vehicle was already in Upton when police responded.
7:51 a.m.: A Lumber Street resident reported that he found a window to his home had been broken. Officers responded and took a report.
10:40 a.m.: An officer checked a motorcycle parked in the fields on Greenwood Road.
4:00 a.m. A caller reported hearing gunshots near his Wedgewood Drive home. An officer checked the area.
4:47 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Lumber Street because the owner of the vehicle had a warrant. The owner was not the person operating the vehicle but the officer asked the operator to pass the warrant information along to the owner.
4:40 p.m.: Tracy A. Bogan, 42, of 15 Meserve St., Hopkinton, was arrested on Maple Street. Bogan had a warrant out for her arrest and was additionally charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license, negligent operation and marked lanes violation. The passenger of her vehicle was transported home by police and the car was towed.
6:15 p.m.: A caller reported that something hit the side of his car on West Main Street, possibly a rock. Upton police responded and spoke with the person.
6:31 p.m.: An officer helped move a dead deer out of the road on Ash Street. Animal Control responded to remove the carcass completely.
9:50 p.m.: An officer assisted with a disabled motor vehicle on Hayden Rowe Street.
