Police Log: Assault and Battery Arrest, Suspicious Males in Costume

The following information was supplied by the Hopkinton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Thursday, Feb. 2

1:05 a.m.: The Hopedale Police Department received a call about two suspicious males walking down School Street in Hopkinton. The Hopedale police were told the men were “dressed like the grim reaper”. Hopkinton police checked the area but were unable to find the suspicious people.

8:40 a.m.: A police officer responded to a fire alarm on Hayden Rowe Street. The alarm went of because of a cooking issue.

8:55 a.m.: A caller reported a minor crash on West Main Street. The people involved had exchanged information and left by the time an officer arrived.

11:12 a.m.: The Hopkinton Police Department assisted the Hopkinton Fire Department with a fire alarm on Main Street.

1:38 p.m.: An officer followed up on a report of theft from a location on Main Street.

7:09 p.m.: A 911 caller reported that her son was just assaulted by her daughter’s boyfriend. The boyfriend left the scene in an unknown direction but was located in the rear parking lot of Colella’s Market. Ryan William Fredell, 28, of 1 Baker Ln., Hopkinton, was arrested and charged with assault and battery and two counts of threatening to commit a crime.

8:27 p.m.: An officer checked Ash Street near the Center School after receiving a report about the sound of gunshots or fireworks. The officer did not find anything suspicious.

9:28 p.m.: An officer assisted with a disabled motor vehicle on Main Street.
