With the death of Jon D. Davies Sr. during a house fire last week, statewide attention has been paid to honor those who protect us on a daily basis.

Hopkinton Fire Chief Ken Clark said members of the Hopkinton Fire Department will cover help cover the city of Worcester on Thursday while members of their fire department attend the funeral service.

"They have asked us to send a structural task force to the city to cover while the day-shifters attend the services," Clark said. "We will have a truck and several men in the city."

Clark also said members of the HFD plan to attend the services. A handful of firefighters have said that they are going.

Funeral services for Davies will be Thursday morning at 10 in Worcester.
